Riya Ahmed
Riya is a licensed psychotherapist, currently working with the adult population. She has previously served as Chair-Elect for Division on South Asian Americans. Riya also has prior experience of working with children, where she was a Mobile Crisis Team Leader. She has worked on research projects focusing on undocumented immigrants. Her research has been published in Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, an APA journal. As the co-founder of the Bengali Mental Health Movement. Riya aspires to eradicate, deeply rooted mental health stigma in the Bengali community through knowledge, resources, and safe space. She is dedicated to making mental health services more accessible for individuals in the Bengali community.
