The Peer Defense Project builds, incubates, and shares legal tools and practices to support youth leaders to build power and autonomy in schools, courts, and government.
THE PEER DEFENSE PROJECT is an intergenerational legal project that designs tools to respond to legalized crises of segregation, resource inequity, and the criminalization of young people in New York City.
Litigate
We bring ground-breaking cases to address youth–reported resource disparities.
Educate
We help youth gain the information and power to challenge the systems that impact them.
Advocate
We push to expand the legal autonomy, institutional power, and material resources of NYC youth.
